Novus 1, 2, 3 Kit Plastic Polish and Scratch Remover Reviews

Not much info was given about it, so I opted for the one with the 'cloth' and the bigger 8 oz. bottles. This product worked perfect, I just paid for more than I needed. Let me explain...First off the 'cloth' is a glorified paper towel. DO NOT let that be a factor in your decision! I thought it would be a nice polishing cloth, sandpaper, or something worth while, but no... It's just a paper towel. If you find a cheaper option without it, go for it! Second, the #3 bottle was useless. It is meant to take out 'bigger' scratches, but it didn't work for me. I used the three step process "as is" and saw no difference at all. What made the difference was sanding. I would not purchase the #3 bottle again. I read that a good technique for sanding is to use 800, 1000, then 1500 grain sandpaper to prepare my... I had tried another acrylic scratch remover kit (one with many different grades of abrasive cloths)and was disappointed.I used this with a Black & Decker buffer/polisher and the scratches are gone including those left by the other scratch remover kit, and it only took a fraction of the time that was spent with the other kit to polish out all the scratches. I used this stuff on a used acrylic aquarium. It had scratches inside and out. Used the #3, then #2, and followed up with #1 inside an out and the tank looks new. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful This Stuff Works, By This review is from: Novus 1, 2, 3 Kit Plastic Polish and Scratch Remover (Electronics) One of the challenges of being an artist who frames her own work is the fact that acrylic glazing has become standard in the industry (competitions, exhibitions). In my circle, glass is rarely used anymore. There are many positives about using plexi, but the biggest downside is the reality that it easily scratches. The other day I delivered a piece to a customer and was embarrassed to discover in the light a large (1 in L shape) and deep scratch on the surface. I offered to take the piece home and repair or replace the plexi. She was very understanding and gracious and was willing to wait. For me, opening up a framed piece is a real nightmare as I have to deal all over again with static and dust. And there is always the risk that something will go wrong with the process that might mean having to cut another mat, etc. I decided to first try to buff the scratch out with the Novus products (1,2,3) I already had available. This was to be my test case - if Novus could get ride of... Read more |
