So, I suggest buying the cheapest. In the local hardware store, "Household Goop" is usually the cheapest. At the time of this writing, "Plumbing Goop" is the cheapest on Amazon.IN GENERAL Goop will bond virtually any material, including leather, plastics, glass, and metal. The bond is clear, very strong, waterproof, and hard but flexible. EXAMPLES Examples are endless. In addition to the examples below, I've used it to repair ceramic plant pots and shoes. I also use it to seal rust spots on my dishwasher rack. The Goop it also makes a "cushioned" surface that will prevent scratches to dishes. I use Goop to close small holes in window screens. I even prefer it over the over-rated Gorilla Glue. Household Goop works for porous & non-porous surfaces. It does not foam like Gorilla Glue, and dries faster. The success of Household Goop is its perfect blend of hardness with just enough elasticity & flexibility to withstand mechanical vibration. Household Goop is also very durable under extreme heat, cold, and ultraviolet rays. If you use just a small amount on a smooth glass or metal surface, it is removable, as it peels off like hard rubber...perfect for securing precious knick-knacks on the shelves. Household Goop is, in my opinion, the same glue as Welder contact adhesive glue. Goop can be diluted with toluene. I put some in a small jar, like a rubber cement container with brush, and add a very little toluene. Must not be runny.A few uses: 1) Attaching mailbox to post. Using full strength and being sure that the weather is dry, apply a layer to the horizontal arm of the post and set the box atop. Be sure the box and post are in full contact. May take a little metalwork with pliers. I've had mine up for three years now and vandals have repeatedly tried to destroy the box but it's still there. 2) Full strength or slightly diluted with toluene, repair broken wooden furniture. If a hole is to be filled with a dowel, full strength probably best, if flat surfaces joined, slight dilution allows easier positioning and penetration.
